York DramaSoc is one of the most active student drama societies in Britain run entirely by students for the benefit of other students. We are based in ‘The Drama Barn’, our student run venue, and put on two plays a week during term time.
Each year, we aim to take student written work to the Edinburgh Fringe to provide opportunities to aspiring actors, directors and designers outside York.

Executive Producer, Lorn Suzanne
Lorn is a Producer from the North West with an interest in devised and immersive community theatre projects. They have previously produced and performed in productions in fringe and festival theatres in Liverpool, Chester and Manchester, their biggest project to date being a new reimagining of Frank Wedekind’s ‘Spring Awakening’ told through movement and music at Liverpool’s Hope Street Theatre.
Lorn recently had their debut as a playwright with their sell out original musical ‘Calling Long Distance’ directed by Emma Prestedge as online production with York DramaSoc. They hope to develop this project further and bring this to an in person audience in the future.
Lorn was also an Executive Producer for DramaSoc’s two fantastically successful online productions earlier this year at online @ theSpaceUK’s second season.
As the External Vice Chair of York DramaSoc, Lorn is responsible for the management of our off-campus events and projects so is delighted to finally be taking three in person shows to the Edinburgh Fringe after the cancellation last year!
